Nepal School Aid Project: Under the ‘SUKUTE BEACH ADVENTURE RESORT
A social adventure of 12 days that involves you with the rugged beauty of nature at its natural best & an upfront insight into the lifestyles & cultures of the local folks who inhabit these rugged regions.
The adventure operator Equator Expeditions – no matter where it conducts its operations, always makes sure that it gives something back to the people who host us on our adventures. For the local folks who inhabit the areas where we visit with our guests to enjoy the natural beautiful wilderness; we have seen how these people struggle to survive on these rugged mountains & the difficult times they spend to exist in these harsh regions. With our Nepal expeditions, our mandatory policy has always been to employ local porters, and to support local education and health initiatives hand-in-hand with local community leaders & stakeholders.
This adventure trip of a social nature manages to take things further, creating an opportunity for you to participate in the much needed work of a local community project. By participating you will be enriching the lives of the local community and children who live in this beautiful, but poor region of the Himalayas. There are around 400 children studying up to the 4th grade in this region.
By assisting in this project you will be working alongside the parents, local villagers and children and immersing yourself truly into this incredibly friendly & congenial area of the country. The trip requires some financial outlay for each participant which goes directly towards your keep and the project costs in hand. The rewards however, will be plentiful, with memories of your rewarding, worthwhile work and the chance to view areas of Nepal some people never get to see. We also add in some fun and culture to complete the trip in return for your efforts with the chance to experience some rafting thrills and trekking in the wilds of Nepal.
Our project site is located in the Bhote Koshi river Valley which carves a path from Tibet through the mighty Himalayas. Our project mission will include building and refurbishment work at the Sukute Primary School which imparts education to some of the most marginalized & poorest communities of Nepal. The main goal will be to build additional classroom space and improve existing basic amenities. Your contributions to this project, at any level that’s parallel to your abilities & capacities, will give these children of destiny a better life & a more secure future which in turn will enhance their efforts to give back to the community they came from & make this region a better place to visit in the years ahead.
Base camp is located at Sukute River Camp which is a one-hour trek from the project sight. Sukute provides an ideal camp with comfortable facilities for the project team after a long day of work. This will be our home for the duration of the project work…feel at home amidst some of the most stunning landscapes in the country.
